Eyup

The square houses a nice pedestrian area with shops surrounding the walkway, restaurants with delicious Turkish dishes, in the Center of the square stands sultan eyup mosque which encompasses his grave. Abu Ayub Alansari is one of the close companions of prophet Mohammed. Few steps further you will reach the cable car which will take you up the mountain, use your Istanbul card for fare.

Its highest point of Istanbul's Europe side. You will find restaurant at the point and good views. Remember its graveyard area. Cable chair will take you through graveyard.

Its a lovely old area that is the highest point in Istanbul's European side. It has a gondola ride to the top of it, a beautiful cemetery that is lovely to walk through. Its well worth a boat ride up the Golden Horn to visit.

It was a nice part of Istanbul with several sightseeing possibilities. I went to a home coming activity organised by a university. Also, I went to one of the the tourist attractions in the area, Miniaturk. There are various alternatives you can do and many cafes around.

After visiting the more popular places in the Blue Mosque district, you may stop by Eyüp. However, this historical district went through intensive urbanization and apart from the more obvious places like Eyüp Sultan mosque and Pierre Lotti, you will have to go through hectic and crowded streets and detect history on the go.
