I had the opportunity to visit and shop here. Ahmed was amazing showing me what I was looking for and even helping me with where to look for other things I was looking for in Istanbul. I bought two pairs of shoes and a travel bag (kilim tapestry) and the items have an amazing quality. I have also had the opportunity to compare the prices on other shops and this one was the one offering the better quality/ price. I definitely recommend this shop and surely will visit it again during my next visit to Istanbul. Thanks Ahmed, for all your help! You were great and hope to visit you and shop in the near future.

We met Mehmet Çetin (the sales rep/owner) through one of our tour guides. Mehmet is very good at what he does. A great salesman 😊. We are in Istanbul Turkey only for a few days, and wasn't thinking of purchasing a carpet but, now I'm so glad we did. Mehmet and his staff were helpful, showing us many different types of carpets, handmade and some machine made. Explained the differences and quality of the carpets. We negotiated for a while and i think we all ended up happy 😊. Mehmet will ship the carpet for us so we don't have to worry about taking it with us as we continue on our trip journey. As we were shopping we enjoyed a beverage, you can have a great cup of coffee, tea, pop or water. If you are in town, check them out. No pressure to buy... Well maybe a little bit lol you are in Turkey after all. Enjoy! I know we will enjoy our rug !!

If a carpet purchase is in your plans, this is the business for you. The selection is enormous, the experience is wonderful and the purchase is an excellent value. There are thousands of places to buy carpets in Istanbul, so why this five star recommendation? The people we dealt with particularly Sahin made us comfortable and confident our purchase was fair value and we trusted the people, the process and price. The carpet and meeting the kind people at El Ricon was a highlight and remains a great memory.

First the Positive: The store has a great collection and a wide range of products. The Negative: ALL the sales persons pretend to be family members or even the owner. You have to negotiate otherwise you will pay too much. Beeing not interested, i have been offered big discounts up to 50% - maybe common practise in Turkey but as a central european you have somehow a strange feeling.

Aggressive salesmen and terrible prices. They do not put prices on their website either so there is no transparency with the company at all and you won't get a decent price from any of the salesmen. They have beautiful rugs but you can find similar designs and material online for much cheaper. There are many rug shops in the area with a more comfortable environment, where you can browse without someone breathing down your neck and won't pressure you to buy when something that doesn't pique your interest or fit your budget. Went to a rug shop that had beautiful rugs for less than half the price of this place.
