Umm Al Emarat Park is a favourite green destination in the center of Abu Dhabi. Originally opened in 1982, the park was reopened in March 2015 after being redeveloped and was then renamed to Umm Al Emarat Park in 2016 having previously been known as "Mushrif Central Park". The park was renamed Umm Al Emarat Park in honour of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF) and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood. Umm Al Emarat park provides a variety of activities for all the family such as children’s playgrounds and splash area, in addition to an animal barn. The park also hosts several activities like face painting, origami, painting, and balloon twisting, specifically curated by the exceptional park rangers. The park is the proud home of over 250 different species of trees and plants and some amazing restaurants, cafés, and grab-and-go eateries.
