About

Borusan Contemporary is a space for art and a multi-platform program of exhibitions, events, educational initiatives, new commissions and site specific installations rooted in the Borusan Contemporary Art Collection. These activities are defined by their specific focus on media arts broadly defined, ie artists who work with time, light, technology, video, software and beyond. Most of the program takes place at the Perili Köşk Istanbul, and co-exists with the offices of Borusan Holding, in essence creating a unique atmosphere in an office paradigm. The entire building including the galleries, office space, café, Borusan ArtStore and outdoor terraces with breathtaking views of the Bosphorus are open to the public on the weekends.

This place is also on the Bosphorus side. The building itself is beautiful. You can go have a drink and enjoy concerts.

Excellent restaurant focusing on modern interpretations of Turkish cuisine. They have an excellent tasting menu for two. It's very busy so hard to get into on weekends. Nevertheless, since I was traveling alone they gave me a seat at the bar and offered me a table when one became available. Service, drinks and food all exceptional.

Check-in is 10 TL, guide is very frequent. It's only open for the weekend. A tremendous building just to walk around

Open solely on weekends, this great little museum is a modern space in a striking classical building. It doesn't have a huge number of works, making it easy to see in a short space of time, but what it does have it showcases well. The art in the offices attached can also be viewed, while the lighting in the lift- and stairwell is, to me at least, an artwork in itself. Of the works on display, those that most captured my imagination were Leo Villareal's mesmerising 'Particle Field (Triptych)' and the augmented reality of Edward Burtynsky's 'Scrap Engine and Rims...'. Due to the computer system being down when we arrived, the staff were kind enough to grant us admission free of charge. Tickets are otherwise so reasonably priced, however, that it's worth it in any case.
