It is a valuable museum of Is Bankasi , the first national bank of our country, which was opened by the order of Atatürk , located between Eminönü and Sirkeci in Istanbul, behind the Yeni Mosque. This museum, which contains important works and information, can be visited for free. Documents related to this bank, which witnessed the economic development of our country, various equipment, old advertisements, communication devices, photographs and many more special things can be seen in the museum. You can visit the case rooms on the bottom floor; You can walk in a dark tunnel while the numbers are spinning around you, and you can experiment with a machine that shows the authenticity of the money in your pocket. The building was built in 1897 and it was opened as a museum on November 14, 2007. I recommend you to visit.

It was interesting to visit this museum and think about the people who worked here many years ago. There was a red carpet on the stairways....The floors are all covered with historical posters and pictures. One can follow the war of independence and the hardship they encountered to found a new nation. There is no entrance fee.

I came across this museum by accident. It is housed in a beautiful building and entry is free. The museum is all about the Turkish economy and the creation of the IS Bank. It is beautifully laid out and there are some fabulous exhibits and interactive displays. It was towards the end of the day when I visited and I was lucky that one of the security guards working there, who spoke a little English, took the trouble to point out some really interesting exhibits to me - including the first Turkish Lira. Most of the information is in Turkish but the interactive displays do have an English option and provide you with a lot of information. I didn’t stay ages but I did find it educational and I did enjoy what I saw.

We were on our way back to our hotel when we stumbled upon this museum that is free to enter (no entrance fee). The museum is a compilation of pictures and fixtures from a not so distant past. Fax machines, type writers, old telephone sets, printers, dry stamps that were being used by banks in the 1930's, 40's, 50's up to the 90's are on display. The most interesting part for me was the vault section since it was really my first time to enter a bank vault that is normally high security area and can only be accessed by bank employees and clients who are using vaults. It was a good experience and it was free.
