Sultanahmet Square

Nice square to stroll through day and night, with views of both Agia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. Plenty of places to sit and take it in.

This place has history! One way you look, it's The Hagia, the other way, The Blue Mosque and Theodosius Column. Then you think hum... just here was the Hippodrome in Romes rule and the start of Constantinople! Great place to wander, sit and watch the crowds, and maybe have a drink and a kebab. This is a gateway to the sites and a place you can not avoid, but you wouldn't want to really

The square, comprising beautiful & historic monuments, is a superb place for a visit. Lots of people around.

A really lovely square to see, and actually more of an area than merely a square... It is nice to wander around and take in different angles on each of the mosques.

Within this square are several souvenir shops , mosques , restaurants. Of course there is the hippodrome, the obelisk , Egyptian that is. Be prepared to walk. And encounter lots of tourists.
