Museum of the History of Science and Technology in Islam. Very interesting museum featuring early Islamic persons who were involved with Astronomy, Chemistry, Mathematics, Medicine and other sciences. You could easily spend a couple of hours here. 50 TRY admission. Scale model of the Observatory of Jaipur India which we saw when we visited India.

Amazing place. Entrance fee 50 lira. Lots to see and learn this is walking distance from the Istanbul archaeological museum. Four prominent aspects displayed and explained are physics, chemistry, astronomy and medicine. Many beautiful models with visuals and explanations. Some very prominent and hard working scientists are mentioned. Really worth a visit. Some lovely restaurants and found close by

Not the flashiest or most interactive museum but it is full of interesting details from the early days of Islam when a premium was placed on knowledge and learning. Now I need to do some research on my own to learn more about astrolabes and the other technology of the period. Unfortunately rhe signage just gives names and dates with not much background. Still worth spending an hour and at least now in the Pandemic it was almost empty.

While the artifatcs are interesting, a visitor can't get much information or learn anything new. Museum is not interactive, it goes on about unimportant information and doesn't let you know anything besides the name and year of different things.

I visited this museum for the first time on 29th august, morning. I liked the museum since it was interesting and explained a lot about the history of science. However the staff was really not nice and extremely rude, that's why I can't recommend this museum to other people. I'm a 21 year old girl and I went to Turkey on vacations for the first time, alone. The recepcionist at my hotel offered me a card and said that I could use it to enter the museums for free. In my innocence, I believe him and showed the person in the this museum's the ticket. The woman at the counter started talking loud and cursing at me in turkish (a language that I can't understand), even called security and treated me very roughly, with scorn and disdain. I was confused and wasn't provided with an explanation. I said I still wanted to purchase a ticket since I really wanted to visit the museum and she "threw" agressively the little ATM machine on the counter for me to place my card. Like she was doing me some favour. I know now that I can't use someone else's card to enter the museum for free, but I would've appreciated an explanation other than being treated like a criminal and making me feel bad about myself. Her attitude was immature and unprofessional. I am highly displeased.
